Bedlam Theatre is teaming up with New Native Theatre and the Native-Somali Friendship Committee, to produce a community created play in the spring of 2013.
We are beginning this year long process this Thursday with a simple activity: walking. We’ve been going on community walks around Franklin Avenue for the past few weeks- if you’d like to join, stop by the Franklin Library at noon on Thursdays! (Join our email list in case of cancellations.)
That’s it. A simple walk. This will kick off weekly walks, field trips, and exchanges with one another over the course of the summer. We are asking you to come out this Thursday and walk with us.
Throughout the summer we hope to see womens, mens, elders, and youth groups created that will have field trips and exchanges with one another like beading/henna, or arts, poetry, history, Powwows and the Somali Independence Day, and much more.
Next event: Join us on Tuesday, July 17th at 6 pm at the East Phillips Park for a Cabaret!
And you can help out the Native American Somali Friendship Committee by voting for them to receive a $100,000 grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation! Click, email, text, or call to vote until July 20th!
