“It’s a _______________ of a day in the Neighborhood.”

That’s the theme of the Unit Collective’s first MADNESS! of the season.

And BEDLAM is partnering with the Seward Neighborhood Group to present this evening of short plays inspired by real people in the Seward neighborhood.  Each playwright has been assigned 2 members of the Seward Community to hang out with and, based on those two meetings, they will create a short play.

The evening will be preceded by free food prepared by this month’s producer: Anton Jones- so you know it’s gonna be AWESOME.

The performance will be followed by a lively discussion around the question:
What is the connection between art and community organizing?

So here’s what your evening will be like:

7:30 You arrive, you break delicious Anton-Jones-devised bread with local playwrights, actors, and theatre-enthusiasts.  (And US!).

Then, you kick back and relax to watch readings of 3 brand new, hot off the printers, totally excellent plays written by Unit Collective members and performed by actors (including Bedlam’s own CRAZY youth!), all about REAL people.

Post-shows you share your thoughts and insights with all these wonderful people you’ve gotten to know throughout the evening.

BEST TUESDAY NIGHT EVER.

So, check out three ORIGINAL NEW PLAYS by FANTASTIC LOCAL PLAYWRIGHTS with EAST AFRICAN YOUTH for FREE (though donations are greatly appreciated) on Tuesday, October 25th at 7:30 pm at the Playwrights’ Center!
