Formed in 2006, Scream Blue Murmur is a loose organism – a blend of music, chant, poetry and performance poetry  – delivered with a unique performance style emerging from pubs and clubs in Northern Ireland and then honed through touring world-wide. The 6 members, Phatbob, Aisling Doherty, Chelley McLear, Ellen Factor, Brian Faloon (original drummer with punk band “Stiff Little Fingers,”) and Gordon Hewitt combine a variety of styles and influences to create the Scream Machine.

Inspired by the events of the 1930s, “Something’s gone wrong in the Dreamhouse” is the new show from Northern Ireland’s Scream Blue Murmur. It’s a sumptuous blend of music, chant, spoken word delivered with the groups unique performance style. See the Stockmarket Crash, the Dustbowl and the rise of Fascism delivered with the wild irreverence that won the encore award at Minnesota Fringe last year.

What the MN critics have to say:
- “clever verse, urgent performances and open hearts,” Graydon Royce, Star Tribune
- “raunchy, angry, and delightfully perverse,” John Ervin, City Pages
- “We revelled in the rhythm, went wobbly with wordplay…damn, you should have been there.” Matt Sciple, Minnesota Playlist
- “these performers tackle weighty material with a deft touch” Trisha Collopy, Pioneer Press
- “Irish group Scream Blue Murmur has a tremendous quality of being interesting, political and presenting richly colored messages without being preachy.” Twin Cities Daily Planet
