Int’l Response is a benefit concert for the American Red
Cross-International Response Fund. The Alpha Centauri kicks off the
night with their beautiful combination of live electronics and
acoustic instruments. The soothing melodies build into spacey
exultations and chugging rock breaks guaranteed to get bodies moving,
moods lifted, and minds thinking. Lotus Eater sounds like the
beautiful voice of the glistening dew drop hanging from a single blade
of golden grass on the first day of summer. With three part harmonies
forming the basis for catchy melodies and thought provoking lyrics
that have an emphasis on praise and appreciation for nature, Lotus
Eater has a diverse sound influenced by artists of all genres: The
Zombies, The Shins, Kings of Leon, Hot Hot Heat, Modest Mouse, Latin
composers, classical music and much more. TART is a solo project
based in Minneapolis. As a former IT student, Phil Khalar structured
his composing philosophies from general principles of chemistry and
quantum physics. Basic concepts such as everything comprised of the
same simple building blocks and the dual existence of light as a
particle and a wave, helped inspire an overall theme of blending:
beauty/noise, electronic/organic, quantized/idiosyncratic, and
sweet/bitter, or TART.
All ticket sales will be donated to the American Red Cross*–ticket price is a donation of $5 or more:
