Bedlam Theatre

In honor of Bedlam’s upcoming production DALI-DADA (Dali’s Liquid Ladies by Savannah Reich and Come to Dada by John F. Bueche), Bedlam will be hanging work by local Surrealists, throwing  a Surrealist Party, and hosting a surreal fundraising dinner.

The party starts at 9:00 – guests are invited to dress surreally, and make your own surrealist art piece. There will be exquisite corpse booths, spontaneous performance and other surreal delights. Plus music by Hot Tony, DJ Dyanmo, Asylum Soundsystem and more. $5 cover.For the fundraising dinner which starts at 6:30, our kitchen is preparing the most amazing six-course meal – each course designed to appeal to a certain set of taste buds. Your favorite Bedlam artists will serve you the most surreal dining experience of your life. Surly and Etica are sponsoring. We invite you to dress up in your most surreal attire, and come prepared for an evening of unexpected events and entertainment!

Tickets are $75 per person, and may be purchased using PayPal. The last day to purchase tickets is Wed. April 8th – don’t delay! All proceeds from the dinner will go towards Bedlam’s 2009 Individual Contributions goal of $33,000. In that spirit, $47 of the ticket price is tax deductible.

For those of you who are strongly motivated by your stomachs, our menu for the evening is:

    * Salty appetizers featuring hummus excellente, pickled spread, tapenade
    * Almond carrot ribbon salad
    * Imperial red rice with edible flowers and bitters
    * Cavatappi with orange and grapefruit, hearts of palm and saffron, lightly sauced in yogurt
    * Broiled Dashi marinated tofu or dashi marinated Barramundi served with chard, sweet potato and aioli
    * Surrealist dessert (a special, sweet surprise!)
